Paul McCartney wrote this song. It was inspired by his mother, Mary, who died when he was 14. Many people thought “Mother Mary” was a biblical reference when they heard it.
About This Song
The last single Paul McCartney wrote before his departure from The Beatles is one of the band’s most iconic songs: “Let It Be”. The song is the title track on The Beatles’ controversial final studio album “Let It Be”. Although Paul McCartney wrote the song – and John Lennon despised it – the song is credited to the legendary Lennon-McCartney partnership. The song was released as a single on 6 march 1970, a month before McCartney announced his departure from The Beatles.

Should we do something else for a while, and come back in a bitOr leave it, same as mine is, yeah Oh, just let me get this, second clapWhen I find myself in times of troubleMother Mary comes to me speaking words of wisdom Let it be And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom Let it beLet it beLet it be Let it be Let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be When all the broken-hearted people Living in the world agree, there will be an answer Let it beAlthough they may be partedThere is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer Let it be Let it be Let it be Let it be, yeah Let it beThere will be an answerLet it be Oh, let it be Let it be Let it be Let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it beLet it beLet it be Let it be, yeah Let it be There will be an answer Let it beAnd when the night is cloudyThere is still a light that shines on me Shine until tomorrow Let it be I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me There will be no sorrow Let it beLet it beLet it be Let it be Let it be There will be no sorrow Let it beLet it beLet it be Yeah, Let it be Yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it beYesHow was that?
